It was absolutely gorgeous this Christmas Day although very windy. With all the family activities, I only had time to do a small painting, but I am happy with the results. 6 X 8 Oil on Canvas
I made this copper wire bowl a while ago. It is a chainmail pattern I modified based off the byzantine weave. I used several patinas to achieve its final color. It took about a week to complete as there are close to 1500 links in this small bowl.
I was at lunch the other day and I saw a birch tree at Bull Creek. It was at the end of of its cycle for changing it colors for the fall and it was beaming with the most amazing yellow leaves. I couldn’t help myself, I had to take a photo of it and when I got home later that evening I thought it would make a great study in color. I have use a broken color technique to emphasize the color aspect of the painting. 8 X 10 oil on Pastelboard.
It was a foggy morning this morning when I spotted this small grouping of cedar trees and thought it was a perfect example of typical Texas hill country scene. Ink and water color on paper.
